As the global semiconductor supply chain undergoes a significant restructuring, Vietnam is emerging as a rising star in Asia thanks to its strategic geographic location, competitive cost structure, young technical workforce, and increasingly open investment environment. Since 2022, Vietnam has officially entered the global semiconductor value chain as a center for Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Testing (OSAT), with ambitions to contribute 8-9% of global capacity by 2032. In parallel, the national strategy to 2030 sets a clear roadmap for the development of the semiconductor industry, with key pillars including infrastructure advancement, the establishment of the country’s first chip fabrication plant, the training of 50,000 engineers, and the creation of a robust supporting ecosystem.
Amidst this transformation, Vietnam is not only an investment destination but also steadily building its internal capabilities and an industrial ecosystem capable of participating in critical segments of the global semiconductor supply chain.
INTRODUCTION
SEMI MANUFACTURING SEMINAR 2025 will focus on sharing investment strategies, development roadmaps, and the step-by-step process of building semiconductor manufacturing plants in Vietnam, from planning, technology and infrastructure design, to real-world operations. The conference will feature a case study of a model semiconductor factory, highlighting high standards in cleanroom systems, specialty gases, supporting utilities, and automation.
At the same time, the program aims to discuss the opportunities and pathways for Vietnamese SMEs to participate in the semiconductor value chain, as well as the collaboration among the government, academia, and investors in developing a robust ecosystem and skilled workforce for this key industry.
